Really? [ She's not entirely surprised. She didn't want to assume what his life was like on the ARK, but the idea that they probably didn't celebrate the holidays up there didn't seem too out of the blue. ]
Uh, well I can show you, if you want? I mean, traditions can vary from place to place, and even individual people can celebrate it differently. But you know it...might be fun? And since it's just you and me here from home, I thought it might be nice to spend the holidays together.
[ She could feel herself rambling now, and even some of that homesickness slipping out at the end. But it was hard to stop herself. ]
[Hey he's just going to let her ramble on, crossing his arms over his chest as he waits for a moment that he can cut in and say something.]
I see, well... If it's to help you feel less lonely, who am I to say no?
[Not anything about it being fun passes his lips, but he totally picks up on her possible loneliness. Either today is a day where he's being rather astute, or a lucky guess.]
[ His words cut the rest of hers short, and she feels equal parts relieved and still a bit sad. She is happy that Shadow is willing to spend the holiday with her...but it did sound a little less like he wanted to, and just because he was keeping her company.
Which is still nice, and it meant a lot that he would do that for her. But she also wanted him to enjoy himself too.
Well, she'll just have to make sure that he does. So with a smile, she nods and claps her hands. ]
Great! Oh, that reminds me... [ Going over to her bed, she reaches under it and pulls out a box wrapped in red and green, topped with a white bow. ] Usually gifts are opened on Christmas day, but some people open them the night before. And there doesn't seem to be a point in waiting...
[Shadow will enjoy himself, in his own Shadow-y way. At Amy bringing out a gift though? Shadow somehow manages to look awkward at the prospect of the object being presented in front of him.]
I, ah, see. I didn't get you anything.
[And it's most certainly too late for him to go and get something now.]
[ With a smile, Amy shakes her head. ] That's okay. You didn't know about it, right? And I don't get people gifts because I expect something in return.
[ Stepping closer, she places the box in Shadow's hands. ] But here. It's not really much, but I hope you like it.
[ When Shadow does open the gift, he would find a decorative cellophane bag filled with the chocolate coffee bean cookies that she had made for him before, as well as a bag of some premium, high-quality coffee beans. ]
[He lets out a little "hrm" at Amy's reassurances, as he takes the offered box and well... He'll open it in the most careful of ways, doing his best to keep the wrapping paper in one whole piece.
Once he's got the gift open though, he is a bit surprised.]
[That response just gets another "hrm" out of him, as he goes to put the gift on the bed that he is using while staying here not really sure what else to say... Well that is aside from;]
[ With another smile, she gestures to the table. ] Anyway, I made dinner, so I thought we could eat first and then I can show you some other Christmas traditions.
[Oh right, of course there would be other things. And of course it involves food, guess it's a good thing Shadow hasn't actually... Eaten today, so he probably should and not mention the whole not eating thing at all.]
I see, that sounds... Good.
[Heck he's going towards the table, so it's not like he's against the idea. And if Amy's cooking is as good as her baking, he has a hunch he won't be disappointed.]
Think we can wrap it up here and handwave the rest of the festivities?

You didn't need to...
[It seems a bit much in his eyes.]

Sounds good to me
